TL;DR
- Let's spawn one corner of the storyverse with stories about a few bored apes and their adventures
- Let's invite 100s from the BAYC community to participate: license their apes (their IP) into the story, set the direction of the story (community storytelling) and share in the upside (royalties, co-own stores)
- Comics are just one media format, low hanging fruit. A quick, evocative way to tell and to collaborate on a story. The aim is to explore and experiment with other formats. Use them to further the story in different directions (video game, puzzles, short stories, animated shorts)
Where we’re headed
Our pitch to PFP holders:
- Come in with your favorite PFP, find your community
- Find active stories that other holders of your PFP collection are participating in
- Join these stories
- License your PFP and get involved in the storytelling process, or
- Support a story by buying its native token
- Share in the output, rewards, revenue
What we're building a portal to spawn future story arcs, where:
- PFP holders to join their community in the stories / adventures / quests being created
- Anyone can create their own corner of the storyverse and find easy to use tools (UI / voting), templates (standard IP licensing contracts) and a vibrant community (artists, writers, other characters to join)
- Future: A DAO that continues to build the universe and maintains narrative cohesion while allowing for decentralized / community driven storytelling
Where do we start?
I give you Kona, an Army ape who found himself at the yacht club. He's here scouting a squad for a prison break.
He has no coin to pay for the best talent. The only way left for him is join others on their missions as muscle-for-hire. But not many know he can do more, as a once lowly intelligence officer in Ape Army, he has a few tricks up his sleeve.
Benefits of casting into a story
A lot is subject to change based on community input.
1/ Build mythology for your ape, mutant, doggo: Kona is a supporting character in your story. We'll work with you to flesh out your character, your foundational story and even lay the groundwork for future story arcs.
2/ Join Kona on his adventure next: Be a part of a shared lore, with a lot of other characters, that will be made into a comic book (think: limited series)
3/ Share in the upside
- % of net profits from the sale of first comic book goes to PFP licensors (and any project token holders)
- 1/n editions for artwork from the story (and % from recurring sale if PFP licensed to scene)
- 1/1 character artwork (to be portable to other universes)
