Story
Private First Class, the lowest rank in the army. The starting point for every new recruit. There wasn’t much of an option for Kona; it was either this or prison.
Having fought in the Great Ape War, Kona quickly saw his exit from the armed services. He didn’t see the point of it all. It didn't matter which side you were on. It was ape versus ape.
They are all just like me. Following orders they don’t understand; playing an actor in someone else’s script. Hardwired to follow a predetermined path instead of being the authors of their own story.
Meta commentary
The Great Ape War was referenced in one of the Jenkins interviews. This is a potential candidate for a fixed point in Ape lore. One that can be shared by and referenced by all apes. The question will soon be answered “Where were you during the Great Ape War?”
Casting call
There are a lot of green field opportunities here. I want to tell this story with the largest number of BAYC characters: apes, mutants and dogs possible.
I think there is a way to bring in other PFP communities here as well. Maybe the Great War was so great that ramifications were felt across the storyverse.
The core narrative for this story arc will be heavily influenced by the characters who answer the casting call.
